A small female army.

While I am out of town with the Princess and Mr. Gatsby, dear Hubby is holding down the fort. It’s him and a small army of teenage girls. He is not really equipped for that but does it anyway just because he’s that kind of guy. 🙂

While he is back home juggling Winterguard rehearsal, a Winterguard performance and several nights of choir performances, I’m spending quality time with Princess and Mr. Gatsby. These two are probably the closest of my kids and really enjoy spending time with each other. It’s been nice not jumping between two kids trying to pummel each other.

Princess had a music audition today, which went really well. Once that wrapped up and relief came over her, we had a nice lunch. Then Mr. Gatsby followed us around town while we did some window shopping. We wrapped up the day with malts for dinner.

The days are long but the years are short. This is going to basically be the summer of Princess. Between college runs for orientation and moving in, I’m so glad I got this time to just be and immerse myself in silly conversation that we don’t usually make time for. As we sit here in one of the smallest airports I’ve ever been in, I’m grateful for the time here with both of them. The chaos of several small traveling children, in a 800-sq foot area, containing all three of the airports gates, is preparing me for re-entry.
